Hi!
I am a USA permanent resident since 2004, I am applying for the USA Citizenship, but in 2007 I had a case of shoplifting. I know it was a terrible mistake I made, and I am so sorry for that. I was very depressed when it happened, I couldn't think clear and I have paid a hard price for that mistake. It has affected my life since then in all ways. After two years the record was expunged.
Does anyone with similar record has applied for the USA citizenship? I would like an opinion if I should considered to hire a lawyer, Or I will be rejected for that criminal record? I have read that even though records are expunged, the FBI keep a copy for immigration purposes.
I am afraid to send my application for that reason
Anyone with similar concerns?
