  • When can I apply for N-400. 2 years and one day rule?

    Hi,

    I need your help please.

I am married since 03/01/2016 and received my green card based on marriage on 08/29/16.
My husband and I took a work gig together and were able to travel for work and pleasure from 03/10/17 to 12/15/17.
We were hired by and American Company, payed our taxes, kept our house, our insurance, etc.
I came back to the USA throughout this time on a frequent basis. We came back in June to where our house is, visited relatives in July and also November. That being said I never stayed longer than six months outside the USA but my visits were short.
Due to marriage I would be able to apply for citizenship end of May 2019. I am confused if I have to wait not and start the counting when we came back for good on 12/15/2017, that means filling after three years-earliest 09/15/2020 or if I may file now or if I may file after two year and one day after we came back so 12/16/2019.
i also read about the two years, six months and one day rule.

i think you need to provide exact date and whether you keep properties here etc.

and i feel IF for any given 365 days window, you were out for more than 6 months, you can consider the dates before that period to not be counted.
