  • Time processing. Change name

    Hi everyone,

Do you guys know how much time take the N400 processing if you do a name change?. I am living in Orange County, CA. Is it about the 6 months goal??.

By the way, do you need to give them your current passport?. I am from Spain.

Any help I really appreciate it.

    Thanks

    1. If you want to do name change at the time of naturalization, it would add at least few more months to the process.

    2. No.

Sorry to sneak in a secondary question.. I should have asked this before sending my N400 in.. I also noted a 'name change' request on the application cause I wanted my name to be updated to my married name. However, I had my name already legally changed 9 years ago when I got married.. but never updated it on my green card cause I continued to travel with my native passport. That was correct that I stated I wanted to do a 'name change' and submitted a copy of my marriage certificate right? I assume they mean if I want to officially update my name in the immigration records to my married name..? My drivers license etc is already based on my married name. Some clarifications pls. Thanks.
