  • Question on request for additional information

Hello, Has anyone had to send in more information after the interview? I saw where I could submit the information online and on the paper, they gave me it said to send by mail, was it ok to submit it online or can I still submit by mail. Thanks

Just do whatever the written instructions on the RFE tells you to do.
If it says you can use either mail or online... that's your answer.
If it says it must be by mail... then do that too.

I submitted it online and got a reply saying that they received it and I don't need to do anything else, should I still mail it? N400questions

They are telling you they got what they need and you don't need to do anything else.

So... No... you don't need to also mail it in. You are fine.... for now at least. :-)

N400questions thanks, I'll share my status when it changes. And another thing too, when they transfer your application to another office for review what does that mean? So will the IO that interviewed me not get the submission

Well... it means what it says.
Your IO interviewed you but their work is being checked by a more experienced or more senior person in another office.
I can't tell if this is because the IO is a new employee and inexperienced or because there is something about your case that is a little tricky and requires a "second opinion" from a more experienced person. You can probably guess which it is by looking at the RFE and the questions they were asking you.

When you ask "Will the IO that interviewed me not get the submission?" I don't understand what you are asking and you'll need to try again and rephrase the question differently.

It seems likely that the IO has done the best they can with your case and has now passed your case up the food chain to a more experienced person (in another office) to make the final decision.

Oh ok they needed additional certified child support payment history after my divorce, so I had to submit the information again.

Asking for proof that parents have a solid history of fulfilling their obligations for child support is common and normal. You have no need to worry about that if your paperwork shows that you are living up to expectations.

I think you can probably just assume that your case is being checked by a more senior adjudicator (in a different office) and that it will eventually get rubber-stamped and approved.
You can't predict how long that will take... all you can do is hope that it will not take months.

If you don't have a final answer within 120 days of the interview... you will be able to take legal action to force things along..... until then... all you can do is wait and hope for a speedy outcome.
                Good luck
