  • My interview is tomorrow ... here goes nothing

My interview is tomorrow and I am just looking forward to getting it over with. I have most of my documents put together that I was able to gather at least. Please let me know if the list seems okay!

    Appointment Letter

    Passport

    Green Card

    State ID Card

    Marriage License

    Sales Tax Returns

Reinstatement Payment Confirmation Page (this is in regards from my missed sales taxes, my seller's permit got revoked, but I paid them off and then paid $100 to un-revoke my seller's permit)

    Business Certificate

    Seller's Permit

    Our 2018 Joint Tax Return

Tax Return Transcripts and Account Transcripts (I was able to retrieve them from IRS! finally!)

I am hearing it's a good idea to have these on hand as well, but I do not. Will this be a problem? The following:

    W2

Employment Verification Letter from Boss? (I have my own business now, I don't work for anyone anymore)

Car Payments? (I don't drive, so the car that we have is my husband's, who makes all the payments)

    Insurance Statements?

    Utility Bills

Mortgage info (I met my husband when he had already bought the house and he makes all of the payments regarding the house)

    Bank Statements

    Two photos?

    Thank you!!!!!! Well, mainly N400Questions

In one of your other threads we talked about the jaywalking. You could have got the court transcript for that. Let's hope they don't ask for it to avoid a delay.

These are things in your "I don't have list". I will comment on each of them..

    W2
Should not be necessary, this information is available in the Tax Return Transcript and in your Turbotax files.
If you want to be really over prepared, you could get the transcript we discussed on the other thread.. ie.... 4) Wage and Income Transcript

Employment Verification Letter from Boss? (I have my own business now, I don't work for anyone anymore)
I can't imagine how this would be useful to anyone. Employment is not a necessary condition for Naturalization. You probably saw this in threads talking about Visa applications or Green Cards.

Car Payments? (I don't drive, so the car that we have is my husband's, who makes all the payments)
    Insurance Statements?
    Utility Bills
Mortgage info (I met my husband when he had already bought the house and he makes all of the payments regarding the house)
    Bank Statements

I can't imagine how these would be useful to anyone. I suppose it is a way of proving that you have been living in USA and perhaps evidence of marriage if payments are in joint names. These don't apply to you if you are filing using the 5 year rule instead of the 3 year marriage rule. You haven't had any long absences from USA so you don't need to prove that the USA was really your home during those non-existent trips.

    Two photos?
Not needed unless your initial application was filed from overseas. They took your photo at the Biometrics interview. That photo will end up on your Naturalization Certificate I think.

We need to fix the name of this thread to the following
My interview is tomorrow.... I'm well-prepared and I'm hoping to breeze through this !!

Make sure you take a look at my other thread with some hints on what to do in the interview and what form to expect from them

Good luck and let us know how it went. :-)

My appointment letter didn’t mention photos and so I didn’t bring any.

And of course at the interview the IO demanded photos.

And so so I brought them the next day.

And so so of course my naturalization cert didn’t use the photos.

      So bring photos.

What the heck? Did they justify WHY they wanted photographs? That's supposed to be for overseas applicants... everyone else gets their biometric photo taken for the certificate.
I certainly was NOT planning on taking two photos.... but now I will !! For goodness sake USCIS.. what ARE you thinking?? Just give me hoops and I'll jump.. give me a ball and I'll spin it on my nose and clap my flippers and beg for fish if you wish.... but PLEASE play by the rules and tell us what the heck they are and stick to them!! <end of rant> ;-)

I hope you are sitting down and not drinking anything while I write this because I don’t want you to spray your monitor.

The justification was that by rule USCIS must now take digital photos during the interview but on that day the digital camera on his computer wasn’t working.

When my wife does her N-400 3-4 years from now, we will have a lawyer at her side.
