I am a US citizen. I married a Jamaican in Feb. 2018. He was issued his conditional Green card in June 2018
He has 2 children in Jamaica. We applied for them to get their green card. They got their conditional green cards May 2019, they moved here in June 2019.
Fast forward to June 2020. Husband will apply to get his conditions removed, no problem.
2021....this is where it gets tricky. Before May 2021 my step-children need to apply to get their conditions removed. 1 is over 18 at that point so he will just get his conditions removed, no problem. But the other son is still under 18 at that point. If my husband applies for naturalization in June 2021 will my under 18 step-son automatically become a citizen even though his green card is "conditional". Basically we don't want to pay to have his conditions removed (close to $700) if it's not necessary. Thoughts?
