wait for next years trip before naturalization?

Hi all, we live in the SF Bay Area (Nor Cal). We want to apply for citizenship, but we'll have to travel to India next summer. Is there a risk in applying now? If I understand right, we'll have to get the citizenship first, then the US passport and then Indian visa (OCI/PIO). Can all this be completed in under 12 months?

You should be fine.

If getting US citizenship takes longer, you can apply for Indian visa temporarily instead of going with OCI, then come back and apply for it.
