N-400 Application - No Marriage Certificate

Dear Friends,
I would really appreciate some help here. I had been in US for over 5 years now on my green card and applying for US citizenship.

I got married in India in a temple while I was on GC but have no marriage certificate. My wife does not needs citizenship as she is on GC and wants to stay on GC.

Since I am applying based on 5 year rule and not based on marriage is it OK if I don't submit a marriage certificate.

If you are married they ask for the marriage certificate. You can't say that you are single if you are married.
