Naturalization certificate for us passport

I went to my local post office to apply for my us passport,,i thought that could be the happiest day in my life
the clerk went through my documents and application
asked me to write a check for department of state
then HE stapled everything together including my NATURALIZATION CERTIFICATE????
i got panic ??? Is that normal??
to staple such document after all years of waiting and money spent
is that normal? Please if you know or about something like this let me know

Certificate of Naturalization

is listed as one of the documents required. From what I read you will get it back around 1-2 weeks after getting your passport.

Do you know if it’s ok to staple such document?? As they normally do that when you apply at the local post office??

Oh, sorry, I didn't read staple. From what I read they need the original and you will get it back, I don't know if it is common to staple it to other documents.
