Hey all! I applied for Naturalization under an IR2 Visa, under the 5 year rule. As a stepchild of a United States Citizen, as an Italian Citizen.
I am not a lawyer and this is no legal advice, this is my personal experience in adding these documents because I thought it made it easier for them to evaluate my application. It doesn't mean that all the things I added are even needed but I personally think it helped in them making a quick and easier decision.
The entire process was very fast. I made sure to attach appropriate evidence on the N-400 Additional documents you provide on their website such as 4 years of ''Tax Return Transcripts'' I attached my Selective Service proof. I attached my vehicle registration, I attached my '' DMV driving record '' which shows no tickets or violations of any kind.
INTERVIEW;
When I arrived at the interview I had to swear in, he had me sit down and answer very easy questions such as ''Have you ever been convicted or arrest? '' I never was, I obviously answered NO then he had me sign on a notepad that I was never arrested or convicted which is the same thing that he asked me prior. In my N-400 I didn't include any tickets or traffic violations since I never had any, he didn't even ask me about tickets or violations, he didn't go over the entire N-400 question by question, he asked me main parts and never asked me anything about dates of how long I lived anywhere or worked anywhere. He never asked me anything about groups or organizations, he never asked me about my jobs or where I currently worked even though I did include that and 2 groups I took part in which were human rights groups. He did ask me about my current mailing address. He never asked me if I had been in a different address or anything about change of address, he didn't care.. He just wanted to know my current address. He asked me if I would defend the US and I said yes. After this he printed out a paper which were the results of the interview which said ''You passed the US civics and history questions '' ''Your application was recommended for approval ''.
After that, I immediately went home and looked at the website which had no updates.. after 2 hours It said '' We scheduled your naturalization ceremony ''
I took the oath Feb 25, 2020 And became an American Citizen. I wish great luck and prosperity to all of you and hope you all make it! This is an incredible country and we always need more law-abiding citizens to make it even stronger. If you have any questions feel free to write here and I will answer when I can.
