  • 15+ months after n400 naturalization interview and no oath ceremony

    Filed for citizenship 01/18/2018
Final citizenship interview at USCIS fairfax, VA 09/24/2018
    Ceremony = never
It has been over 15 months since I did my citizenship civics+ English test and interview and passed it.
i was told that I will be getting the oath ceremony notice within the next few weeks.
Didn’t hear after that. Did a lot of inquiries using online service, phone service, inquiry congressman in VA and all I get in response is “In progress” and that I have to wait.
    What are my best options?
This is really frustrating for me right now. I would understand if the delay would be even 6 months but this has been ridiculously long.
I spoke to lawyers. One lawyer told me that it will cost me 5k+ to sue the immigration for a decision.
another lawyer told me that I can file N400 again and go through the whole process once again.
I have been thinking to sue the immigration for decision but I don’t have that kind of money to spend.
am I the only one going through such aituation and this ridiculous amount of wait?
has anyone experienced the same experience?
    any advice?

It is really too long wait, please explain more about your case, what inquiry and when and where did you send , and what was their answer, also what was action of senator, did they say that they waiting for back ground check report? And what was in your N652 form after interview?

1-Submitting an “outside normal processing time” service request online in Washington DC area need Receipt date before January 06, 2019 ; so you can submit this inquiry and they will reply after 2 days. https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/ Use your online account and send inquiry from your message center. Mention in inquiry that you are losing good job opportunity due of long delay. https://myaccount.uscis.gov/

2-Send another inquiry to USCIS site in this link too and write same thing. https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/dis...oPageType=onpt

3-Call the USCIS Contact Center at 1-800-375-5283.Explain same thing you write in inquiry.Try to get an info pass due to losing job opportunity and then meet with an officer.

4-After 1 ,2 ,3 which will finish in 2-3 days try Submit a Request for Case Assistance with the Ombudsman, Submit an electronic Form DHS-7001 (https://www.dhs.gov/case-assistance#)

5-Ask help from senator in same time when starting Ombudsman.

6-After you get reply about all 1,2,3,4,5 it is time to go court, as it mention bottom of form N652, you can do this if USCIS has not made a determination on your application within 120 days of the date of your examination, ( I think you do not need to hire a lawyer in first step, maybe they solve problem before date of court and you have enough time to think about hiring lawyer before court time),I am not a lawyer or expert, just got some information by browsing these sites.
Please keep us update, good luck for all.
