  • Can I file for citizenship ?

    I have bn married for 3 years 4 months in America but I have had my green card for 10 months . Can I still file for citizenship ? Or I would have to wait for 2 more years

    You need to have held LPR status for three years to be eligible for citizenship.

      You can apply 2yrs and 9 months from the date of your first greencard (33 months) . So you have 1yr and 11 months (23 months) to go before you can apply for N400
      Also, you need to file for ROC before applying for N400

        Being married for more than 3 years and a GC for only 10 months, I think OP should have a 10-year GC.

          You must have 3 years in green card status to apply for citizenship. Citizenship is not based on the length of the marriage. Therefore, you will have to wait, and also you cannot travel out of the US for more than 6 months.
