Indian passport expires question...

Here is the scenario,

1. We sent our N-400 application today (07-07-2010) (Hopefully it takes around 6 months)

2. My wife Indian Passport expires on 10-10-2010.

For the above scenario, Do I need to renew my wife Indian Passport or once I get my US Citizenship Can I surrender the Expired Passport to the Indian Consulate.

Any help or reply is greatly appreciated

Remember you wife is still an Indian Citizen and will continute to be one till the day she is sworn in as a US Citizen.

So I suggest that you renew her passport till she gets her US naturalization certificate (sure you can wait till the last day if you are trying to save few $$$).

I am not sure you can submit an expired passport for cancellation.
