Hi all,
So my dad failed the test twice to become naturalized about 6 years ago. He failed the writing portion of the exam
He is waiting for the language waiver to kick in when he reaches 50 years old.
Now, I am just curious, What is the benifit of Citizenship vs being a Permanent Resident?
Both my mom and I are naturalized, so his citizenship won't help us.
I know he can't vote or run for office, but he doesnt care about that. Will there be any effect on his taxes, retirement, social security, medicare ect if he is a PR vs a citizen? Thanks!
