Citizenship - Did any Austrian get approved for dual citizenship?
I am from Austria and married to an American for over 3 years now, so technically I could apply for US citizenship, only problem is that Austria does not allow dual citizenship and I definitely prefer to keep it. I recently met a lady from Austria, whose husband told me that they try to get an exception from the Austrian government, so she could gain US citizenship and keep Austrian citizenship. I never looked into it, as I thought this was not an option, beside they have told me that if I die my family in Austria would be inheriting my "wealth" and when my husband dies I would need to pay inheritance taxes. Which makes it worth at least trying, just not sure how difficult it is.
