  • Filing N-400 when owing taxes

I want to file for my citizenship, but I have one issue. I have filed married jointly with my husband, but since he is self-employed he owes taxes. We have an installment plan and it is paid every month. The taxes that we owe are essentially his taxes. I am employed on W2 and all my taxes are paid. However, due to the fact that we file taxes jointly it will show as I owe them together with my husband.
Has any of you been in the similar situation? I just hope my application won't be denied. I will definitely send our installment plan together with all the documents.

What other documents should I attached to my online application? Thank you!

You will need to submit the payment plan. Or show it during the interview. It’s no big deal as long as you are paying it off
