Selective service!!

Hi everyone I have obtained green card through marriage and will be applying for citizenship in less than a year. Butt I found out that I had to register for Selective service before I turned 26. Now I am 27 and can not register. Does anyone knows anything and give me advice on what to do ??

I wouldn't assume it's automatic.

When I turned 18, I received a notice in the mail to register. So I headed to the local post office and filled out the requisite forms. Years later when I went through the N-400 process, the question of Selective Service registration came up but thankfully I was able to use the online lookup system to retrieve my number.

Update: Automatic registration for Selective Service was signed into law starting on January 1st, 2002. After that, anyone who applies to renew a state driver's license, or state ID may be automatically registered.
