Applying for citizenship and want to do a name change as well

Hello to all!

Hoping someone can answer this question for me. I have my permanent green card and am preparing to apply for citizen, thing is I also want to do a name change - how do i do this? locally with a state court or with USCIS?

Sharing my wife's experience going through this in USCIS@Dallas. During her N400 Interview, she was asked if she want her Name Changed, she opted for it and was told that it would take about 3-4 months before she gets her Name Change + Oath Completed. Hope this helps !!

So you could get it done during your N400 Interview without any additional financial cost to you.
