Does Immihelp's Citizenship Eligibility Calculator calculate the eligibility date correctly if there has been over six months but less than a year break in continuous residence? (https://www.immihelp.com/us-citizens...ty-calculator/)
I got my Green Card in 2014, but there was over six months (but less than a year) break in residency in 2017 and I returned to USA in November 2017. (Since that I have easily fulfilled both continuous residence and physical presence requirements.)
The calculator counts that I would become eligible in November 2022. I.e. five years after my break in residence.
However, if I understand correctly the USCIS policy manual the applicant becomes eligible to apply for naturalization 6 months before reaching the end of the pertinent statutory period. I.e. after 4 years and 6 months. (Because then, during the five years period, one has not been absent for over six months.)
(See Chapter 3, C1, "Eligibility After Break in Residence" and the example in https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/...rt-d-chapter-3)
Wouldn't that indicate that I would become eligible in May 2022?
So, can I file N-400 90 days before that, i.e. in February 2022?
