At the start of my permanent residency, I actually spent significant time outside the US for the first year - I'd made a first trip of one week to activate my DV immigrant visa, then went back to my country to put things in order, then after just less than 6 months I went back to the US to live for a few months. Then back to my country for about 5 months, then US again - and after that I've lived in the US properly.
At the time, I'd read that it was not uncommon for new immigrants to need to do this initially, and I didn't have issues being let into the US again or keeping my resident status. But could this cause issues when I naturalize? I will soon be eligible for the 90-day early filing for the N400.
