Hello all.
i became a naturalized citizen in 2006. Prior to that I was a green-card holder for two renewal terms.
Back then, we were able to visit the local immigration office. Specifically, here in Dallas, TX.
Welp…I lost my Naturalization certificate (actually my wife passed away and I have no idea where she stored if).
i initially thought “I can just drive down there and talk to someone” but in calling them..for days, I was unable to even speak to a person.
MY QUESTIONS:
1. Is it possible to make an appointment with USCIS anymore (here in the US). On their website it states something about Info-Pass appointments no longer accepted? Info-pass is something that must have started after 2006, but curious if that is just another way to say. “Unless we call you in for an appointment, there is now way to talk to someone in person.”
2. Is there any way to talk to a human about your pending case? I have a receipt number, and frankly USCIS has been doing a good job of keeping me informed, but in the event I end up needing to talk to someone is there a way to do this (again, assuming you have a case currently being processed).
FWIW, I initially went to an attorney, and he said there is not way to talk to anyone at USCIS, but he said it out of frustration, and unsure if this is true or not. I thought I would ask people who currently have a pending case with them there is a way (again, in person or even by phone).
Thank you!
