I have an appointment for an interview later this month at the Boston office. I am however flying out of the country the next day for a week. If approved do they give you an option to take your oath later? If so do you know how long after or if you have an option to pick your oath taking date?

Sorry i don't come to this forum frequently like before getting my citizenship. anyways if it helps as the above poster said, the officer will ask you if you want to do the ceremony later in the afternoon if they are available or can come another day. if you agree to do the citizenship the same day they take away your green card hence you have to apply for a passport and as you have probably heard it is taking months. my advise would be to defer the ceremony and travel and come back to do it afterwards. I finally saw an update to my N400 case yesterday.
”interview scheduled”. I’m so excited.

Excellent. it's amazing how some applications go fast and some slow. I can't believe you applied in November of last year and I applied Mid Jan of this year and mine was completed fast. very odd.

Yes, I was worried at first with the timeline. I actually applied in October, and not November. I apologize for the error.

Thanks so much for that followup, I will ask for scheduling the oath after I am back from my travels.
