  • Providing tax transcripts with initial N-400 form?

    Hi there!

A friend of mine recently got citizenship and he mentioned that at interview IRS tax transcripts will be required.

My question is: should I proactively include these under "additional documents" on the initial N-400 form? They haven't asked for them as evidence but maybe it will expedite the process?

Additionally: I don't have this year's transcript yet. Would you submit 2019-2022 and then a copy of my 2023 tax return?

    Thanks!

Tax transcripts will definitely be needed. If you are married to a US Citizen i think you only need the last 3 years, otherwise you will need 5 years worth. I still did all 5 just to play it safe (i was married to US Citizen). I uploaded them with all the other evidence i uploaded, but I clearly titled the document to what it was. If you haven't got the most recent one then don't worry just bring it to your interview. They will no doubt ask for it!

    Hope this helps
