Current Passport expiring before US citizenship interview

My interview for US citizenship is scheduled next month. I just noticed that my current (Indian) passport is going to expire 10 days before the interview date. They require me to bring my current passport during citizenship interview. I have couple of questions.

1. Is it okay to take an expired passport during US citizenship interview?
2. Once I get the US passport, I will have to surrender/cancel my Indian passport and get OCI/PIO card for India. Is the expired Indian passport going to create any problem in this process?

Hi there,

A friend of mine with an expired Indian passport was rejected on her Interview date. She forgot to check and realized to late to renew.
If you still have 30 days left, I would check with your Indian Consulate
and explain your situation to expedite your renewal process.
You may have to pay some additional rush/express charges for your
passport processing.
