Do NOT laminate the Naturalization Cert!!

I just got it yesterday. I thought, let me take good care of it by laminating it right away.

Big mistake. When you apply for the passport, they don't like it laminated.

I am going to go back to the USCIS office and try to get them to give me another one.
I doubt I will succeed.

The cost to replace the cert is like $345

thank you for sharing! But you should ask on the forum before further action on the certificate ( laminated). Nota Bene: Never laminate original documents issues from government: such as social security cards, Naturalization certificate, birth and marriage certificate...

All OK

Well, it all turned out OK.

The person processing my passport application told me that they might not return my certificate.

However, not only did it get returned, but they issued the passport as well.
