Green Card To US Citizenship

Hello,

Here is a scenario:

Someone has gotten her green card after marrying a US citizen (family based).

She can apply for US citizenship in 3 years if she is still married to the same person.

Here is a situation:

She happens to get divorced or her US Citizen husband died before those 3 years.

Can she still apply for US citizenship with the same greencard after 5 years, even though it was originally obtained through marriage?

Yes, you can apply under the 5-year rule even though your green card was obtained through marriage.

Yes. She can apply with the same green card. But will have to complete five years as a permanent resident
