  • I received a pre-interview notice for citizenship application

    Hello everyone:

After my finger printing for the application of citizenship, last week (March 10) I received a notice saying that my application is being forwarded to schedule an interview. The notice notifies me that I should bring my driver's license to the interview. And how long could I wait to get the official interview notice? My driver's license is out of state, but I live in NY for over one year, should I change my driver's license for the interview?
    Many thanks!

    Hi,
Did you submit your NY DL with the N400 application ? If yes then you will have to bring it with you for identification. You might want to take some proof of your residence in the current state, maybe paystubs or utility bills ? And the wait time for the interview varies depending on the load they have and so on.

    have fun.

      Hi Many thanks!

I have received the interview notice. Does anyone have any experiences about the interview? What questions could come up with?

        Hi Happyimmi
Congrats for almost finishing the journey, however nobody can give you an answer in regards to (what questions could come up), every IO have their own style of interview and you don't expect to be the same. What i suggest to you is, i believe when you went for fingerprints you were given a book and a CD to study, the only thing is just go study the book and expect your lucky IO to pick any question from the study book.

I understand how someone feels especially on the interview date, but that's normal anyway you need to be calm, smart and confident.

Good luck and keep us updated after your interview.

        Regards

When you get the official letter depends on your local USCIS office. In my case, Raleigh-Durham, I got it in 2 weeks. But I saw on other trackers that people wait for one or two months. So it really depends on your office's schedule.

Regarding the driver's license, it's always a good idea to have an up-to-date one. So I strongly recommend that you update that before the interview so that your out-of-state license does not raise a red flag with the officer.
