    hello! i'm applying for citizenship next week, i stayed outside the U.S. for more than 6 months. So, with N400 form do i need to submit IRS (tax-return) forms along with other requirements such as-green-card photocopy, 2 identical photographs and check for application fee?

    please help....

    You are applying based on 5-year permanent residency, right?

    For your long trip (more than 6 months) can you justify that you did not break your continuous residence and can you justify why you stayed that long out of the country? You are referring to a single trip that lasted longer than 6 months, right?

    They will ask you about this during your interview.

      thnx for your reply, yes, i stayed more than 6 months during single trip-it was lasted for 11 months because of medical reasons. But in the uscis Document checklist link it says that Send copies of the following documents.....and the very last sentence of page 1 does say that if you taken a trip..... which makes me confuse that should i wait to send it unless they ask or just send it to be safe. thnx

        Yes, you're right. In that case you need to send in tax return transcripts. Send them in with your N-400 application.
