Mailing the N-400 Form

I am planning to mail the N-400 form for my wife and myself this week. Can I send both in a single envelope or do we need to send separately?

Send them separately, these are two different applications for two persons, each has its own application fee as well.

You can send them together but it is advised to send them separately to avoid any confusion.

My spouse and I submitted ours separately. USCIS did move our applications in parallel; i.e., our fingerprinting, interview and oath dates coincided. So even if you send them in separately, USCIS will try to accommodate your and your wife's applications to move synchronously if possible.

You can really just send them together, but paper clip each application with all supporting documents and separate cheques, or put them in individual envelopes, and then put those envelopes into a single bigger one, if you like.
