Having a issue my friend filled for his citizenship this year. but theres a problem with his
childbirth certificates that was born in usa.when he sign the childbirth certificates
it said he was born in the usa it was a misstake,when he find out 4 years later he got it fix
but when he was filling for his citizenship there was question stating have he ever claimed to be a usa citizen he answered no his interview is in two months

please help

I think he should be fine since that error was on the birth certificate and he did correct it. I assume he thought that that question was related to the child and hence checked US, am I right?

If he would have claimed citizenship to get a job or to vote then he would be in serious trouble. Having the document fixed is good. There was another poster who had a problem with a bank account that he fixed and it was OK as far as I know.

I assume he did not claim US citizenship on purpose and that is what the question asks.

So this is a little bit tricky situation. Does he have documentation that he corrected the certificates afterwards? Also, why did it take four years to correct the problem? Can you provide more information?

I would take all documentation that you have regarding the certificates with me to the interview just in case the issue comes up and the officer asks for additional information.

when his child was born he was not at the hospital he dont know what happened to his place of birth.as soon as he find out he corrected it,and he have all the documentation

Great. He should be in the clear then. Looks like a simple mix-up during the document preparation.
