  • C1/D visa renewal

    Hi,
I am a Philippino citizen but haven't been to this country for about four years working for Norwegian Cruise Lines and coming on vacation to Peru: I am married to a Peruvian national. After the birth of my son I decided to take a year-long career break and stay with my family in Peru where until now I have been officially residing for more than a year.
Now that I want to return to work to the ships and need to renew my C1/D visa I have confronted a small problem. The thing is my old visa is stamped in my seaman's book and it has expired and cannot be revalidated in any country other than the Philippines. But my regular travel passport is valid. My question is: can the consular officer stamp a C1/D visa in a regular travel passport or should it be only a seaman's book? Here in Peru they don't seem to have any such thing as a seaman's book, but I am not a Peruvian citizen yet.
Any reply from people who have similar experiance would be greatly appreciated.
