I-94 correction and SSN

Hi,
I am on a J-1 visa and My I-94 is incorrect. I sent it to USCIS for correction after filing an I-102 .. I recieved reciepts .. This process will take a long time.

1.Can I apply somehow to get the SSN now?

2.Can I get a driver license or a texas ID without a SSN ?

As far as I know , you need an original I-94 to get an SSN.

I am eligible for a SSN but as I mentioned I-94 has an issue.

So, i go to SS office requesting an affidavit attesting letter ??

I know you are eligible.
Why don't you wait for the I-94 to come back corrected.
It will be the correct way to go.

Sorry, I do not know the details about the affidavit route.
