Travelling back from USA after date of expiry

Hello, I am Indian nationalite, PhD student in France. I have obtained J1 visa for short term visit to US. The date of expiry on both DS2019 and J1 visa stamped on passport is 2nd February. Can I travel back from USA on 3rd Feb OR am I supposed to leave US by 2nd Feb itself?
