Hello all,
I am a post-doc on J-1 and got a waiver for 2 year home residency rule after I came to US. My department wants to extend my stay here but since I got this waiver, I was not allowed to extend my program. The international services dept. at my university is looking for a solution now but I am so stressed now and wanted to ask if someone here has info about that. DO you think that I will need a new offer from the university, then go back to my country and get a new visa? Or change the status from J-1 to H-1B if possible?
If I knew that there was such a rule, I wouldn't have waived home residency rule.
