i-901 SEVIS fees paid late , how does it affect my i539?

I applied for COS from B1 to J1 research scholar on jan 10th through USCIS by filling online i539 form on website. But didn't realize I had to pay i-901 sEVIS fee until yesterday and I paid the fees late by at least 50 days. My status on i539 is still in "pending review" since the day I paid the i539 fees from jan10.
Does paying i901 sevis fees this late affect my i539 approval?
My application has not reached the stage of initial review for the last 60 days. Is it normal?

Finally I got my i539 application approved after 4 months at Vermont Service center. My late payment of fees didn't affect my approval. If anyone else is reading this please do not forget to pay your i-901 SEVIS fees before you start filling your i539 online application.
