Dear immihelp members,
I am a medico, graduated from India and presently working as a researcher on J-1 visa. Since the Government of India issued a blanket ban on all medicos for issuance of NORI, my sister who is in Delhi for a day and I have been working to get the Statement of Need (SON)/ NOC from MOHFW. The travel.state.gov clearly states (http://travel.state.gov/contenthttps...tructions.html) that the SON/NOC needs to be issued by the embassy or U.S. consulate on their letterhead. But the MOHFW are adamant to give it to me to so that I can post it to the waiver division in Washington D.C (for which I have a strong feeling is not a right way to do).
Will you please let me know since I am confused here, does the NOC/SON needs to be sent to the U.S. consulate or embassy or it has to be sent to me to post it to the waiver division office.
Thanks and regards,
padma
