    help j1 to f1

    my j1 visa expired in sept. but before that i applied for a B2 and now i am pending. meantime i was accepted in college, a lawyer told me that while i'm pending i'm allowed to change my status to f1. my question is: can I do this change of status by myself, no lawyer?

    first of all, is your J1 visa subject to the 2 year foreign residency requirement or not?

      my waiver was approved, that's why i applied for a B2 visa.
