visa expire

I am on j-1 visa. My DS-2019 is valid till june 2008 and visa will expire on october 5, 2008. I am going to India on june 7 2008 and will be back to US on aug 12,2008. Before leaving US i'll receive my new DS2019 from my sponsor which will hopefully be valid till june 2010.

Now my question is............since my visa is expiring on 5th oct, do I need to go US embassy in India to get a new visa stamp?

A new visa is not needed if you enter before it expires.
