Hi,
I came to US on J2 visa, which expired a month back. But We (my spouse J1 and me) already got new DS-2019 for another one year. So I applied for renewal of my EAD. I sent copies of DS-2019 to the USCIS. I was wondering why the renewal had taken a lot of time and then recently I got their mail, in which they say the bottom of the DS-2019 must be signed.
When I came to US, the bottom was signed by me and countersigned by a person in the embassy of my native country. Now that I have not gone back to my country after that, I thought we need that to sign only when I go back to my country and then applying for visa again before coming here. But now the USCIS people need a copy of DS-2019 with the bottom part signed, how can I do it? Can I do it inside USA without going back to my country? or do I need to go back to my country, get a new visa from the embassy and in the mean time get the DS-2019 signed and countersigned there? and the uscis guys have given me one month period to do that. Please help.
