J-1 Visa

Hi

I am currently in the U.S. on a J-1 visa. My problem is that I will soon be finished with my training but my visa expires in late summer. I liked to travel around for some time but expects the school will cancel my visa when I stop there. Can I fly out of the country for a day or two and come back on a tourist visa (B-2) even though I have a j-1 in my passport.

You can do that. Or you can apply for change of status to B2 here in the US by filing I-539.
