J1 VISA adminstrative processing

Hello,

I attended the J1 visa interview on 27th January 2009. I was given pink slip and my passport was kept. I responded to the questionnaire very next day. My status is pending process till now.

Can anyone please tell me how much time it take to process the visa and what the pending process means??

My program starting date was Feb 1. Now I have been send a new DS-2019 with new starting date March 1. Should I need to inform the embassy about the new starting date??

The Visa Officer just asked to submit additional information (Resume, Itinerary, Research, Position and Invitation letter) which I have send the day after. He told that the Visa processing would take 4-8 weeks.
