J2 EAD (c)(5) - Renewal limit

Does anyone know if there's a limit to the total time you can have an EAD as J2 under (c)(5)?

I'm working with an office that said you can only have an EAD as J2 under c5 for a maximum of 4 years. I'm wondering if anyone heard of this before or had the same situation.

I'm currently on my 3.5 year but my J2 DS2019 goes for another year and I would like to extend my EAD until the end of my DS2019.

Let me know if anyone heard or knows anything about it. I tried googling but did not find anything.

I came to the United states in 2017 under J-2 visa and got my EAD by march 2018 and I am allowed to work until 2022. So I think J-2 only gets 4 year of employment on EAD.
