Hi everyone,
This question is regarding my wife, who is currently on J2 Visa with me in US. She has received an offer to join as a Postdoc at a university. Currently, she has a J2 Ds2019, I was wondering if it'd be possible for her to obtain a J1 Ds2019 and start her new position, and then when she goes back to India later, she can get the new J1 Visa stamped. The J2 EAD processing time is longer now, so I was thinking if there's a way to avoid that. Please advise if that is at all possible, or if you have experience of changing status from J2 to J1 while staying in the US. Thanks!
