  • J1/J2 visa and EAD

Hello, my partner (Medical doctor) is going to the US on a J1 visa. I'm (Engineer) applying for a J2 visa. is it true that I need to wait at least 3 months before applying for the EAD? and does it take too much time to issue it https://speedtest.vet/ ?

I've read that it can take 6-7 months, and that gap will be bad for my career https://vidmate.bid/ .

Yes, it is true that you need to wait at least three months before applying for the J-2 EAD. This is because USCIS requires that you have a valid J-2 visa and have been in the US for at least three months before you can apply for work authorization.

The processing time for the J-2 EAD can vary, but it is currently taking about 6-7 months. This means that you may need to wait for up to 10 months before you can start working in the US.

I understand that this gap will be bad for your career. Unfortunately, there is no way to expedite the J-2 EAD processing time. However, there are a few things you can do to make the most of the time:
      • Network with people in your field and attend industry events.
      • Volunteer or work on freelance projects to gain experience and stay up-to-date on your skills.
      • Take online courses or workshops to learn new skills.
      • Update your resume and start applying for jobs.

Once you receive your J-2 EAD, you will be able to work full-time or part-time in any field. You will also omegle or shagle be voojio able to apply for a Social Security number and start paying taxes.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

If you are applying for an EAD on a J-2 visa, you can expect the following timeline:
        • Month 1: Your spouse arrives in the United States on their J-1 visa.
        • Month 2: Your spouse activates their DS-2019 form.
        • Month 3: You apply for the EAD.
        • Month 6-8: Your EAD is approved and issued.

This means that you may have to wait 3-5 months after arriving in the United States before you can start working. This can be a challenge, especially if you are an engineer and you need to work to maintain your skills and experience.
However, there are a few things you can do to minimize the impact of the EAD processing time on your career:
        • Network with people in your field. Even if you can't start working right away, you can still network with people in your field and attend industry events. This will help you stay up-to-date on the latest trends and developments in your field, and it will also give you a chance to meet potential employers.
        • Volunteer or freelance. If you can't find a paid job right away, you can volunteer or freelance in your field. This will help you gain experience and build your resume.
        • Take online courses. You can also take online courses to stay up-to-date on the latest skills and technologies in your field. This will make you more competitive in the job market when you are finally koowspin able echatrandom to start working.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
