convert j1 to j2

hi my j1 is going to expire in may 2011, my spouse also in j1, can i convert to j2, with out leaving coutry?we both have valied waivers.

You will need to file I-539 before your current I-94 expires. (If I-94 has D/S, you need to file this before DS form last date + grace period).

after compeleting i-539 processes can j1 will be converted to j2 with out leaving country?

Yes, if approved you will receive a new I-94 showing J2 status.
