J1 visa holder - Transit visa

Hi.

I am a J1 student intern in USA and my visa expires on 10th July. I have a return flight to my home country (India) on 13th July via Paris. For France, if a person has a valid US visa, then one does not need to get a transit visa. I, unfortunately have an expired visa and hence I am worried if I will be allowed without a transit visa or not. Does anyone know about it?

Please note that J1 visa holders are allowed to stay for additional 30 days after the visa expires. Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.
