  • J1 2 yr Rule: What does 'cumulative' mean?

The 2 yr rules does apply to me. I am planning to get a tourist visa stamp which usually is for 10 years. Does it mean I can go to US on a tourist visa, stay 6 months in CA with my fiancé, then come back to my home country, spend 2 months, and go back to US for another 6 months for another cycle. Possible?

If I do it this way, does my 2-3 month stay in my home country count towards my mandatory "2 years in home country"? I have already clocked up 6 months in my home country. I'm trying to ask if the smallest number of days also count towards the Rule.
If yes, how do I show proof for that?

Also, for the last 6 months, I couldn't not get a proper job and I live with my parents. So I don't have any document showing a regular address is being used. But on my passport, I have no proof of travelling anywhere since returning from US. Will this suffice?

I am still planning to do this, haven't started yet. Please also tell me if there are any negative repercussions.

Add up all the period you spend in your home country and that should be two years.
