Can i get a fiance visa?

I am a new zealander engaged to my fiance who has american citizenship but he hasnt lived there since he was about 5. We spend 5 months travelling there and have decided we want to live there so were goin to apply for the fiance visa and then once granted move there and start work. Can my partner sponser me since he hasnt earned US income? Also he works away so we will come to the US, set uo etc and then he may have to leave the US for work for 3 months at a time minimum. Can we appy for the fiance visa in these circumstance or does he have to have proof of US income and then cant leave the states to work?

Your fiance can petition you for a fiancee visa, but must provide sponsorship documents for you to take to your visa interview. His income must have been reported on a U.S. income tax return and meet the income requirements (regardless of where his income was from). He must also have a U.S. domicile address to use for the petitioning process, and must have a U.S. address/domicile, or plan to return to the U.S. before or when you get your visa.
