  • K-1 approval in less than 3 weeks!? Processing time shows 5 months!

I mailed my I-129F on 12/02/2014, got the NOA1 on 12/08/2014, and NOA2 on 12/24/2014 (Best Christmas gift ever, to my surprise!). Now, I'm trying to gather all the documents ASAP to send to my Fiance.

NVC says I need wait 30 days for my case number. Will I be receiving an instruction packet on what to do next?

P.S. - I'd like to thank this website and all the members' contribution here!

There are no "post-USCIS approval" instruction packets. The next step in preparation for the interview is driven by the Embassy requirements, and the visa applicant normally gets an instruction packet from the Embassy.

Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS Texas Service Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number YYYY YYYY X. With the official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) you may visit www.uscis.gov where you can check the status of your case using My Case Status. We suggest you wait until you have received your Form I-797 before checking My Case Status.

Hello- The only notice I got is the email above and the same message that was mailed to me. Was that the NOA1 or 2? what should I be getting next? It's been more than 6 months now. I just need to be patient and wait right?

What country are you from, and what country is your fiancé from? (had you been in the Armed Forces too? I am trying to work out why some people's gets cleared so fast!)

I am trying to work out why your application (and your the 2nd one I have found out about in the last few days) has got to the NVC centre within 3-4 weeks of application and yet mine is still awaiting and it's been 6 months?
        I don't understand.....there is NO Consistency

I'll copy over what I recently posted on another topic:

I-129's are processed at two different centers - one in California, and one in Texas. With rare exception, you are processed based on where you live in the US. Also, NOTHING is processed at the "Lockbox Facility". That is simply a routing center. It coincidentally resides in Texas, but is not the same as the Texas Service Center.

Average wait for your NOA2 from Texas - 200-ish days
Average wait for your NOA2 from California - 30-40 days.

If your fiance is from the Philippines, you can expect a much faster processing time than the rest of us. Their applications are expedited.

Is there anything you can do about the huge gap in processing times? Sort of. Write your congressman. Write the president. Fill out a complaint form for the Department of Homeland Security. I, and many others, have done this... mostly because we all have applications sitting in a box in the Texas Service Center.

Moreover: visit the Visa Journey website. With the exception of senior members like Ray B, the advice and help there is immensely more helpful than it is on these forums, sad to say.

One bright spot appeared just a couple days ago: http://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/wor...ter-operations

          Good luck.
