USCIS will send you a notice to appear to the interview and it lists all the things you will need. Nobody can predict when your interview will be, but it usually takes place a few months 2-4 after fingerprints, depending on the case load of your local USCIS office.

      Hi,
What is the process for AOS application. Following the marriage you must attend an interview and give fingerprints on two seperate occasions? How long should this process take and following the interview would you have work authorisation, rgds

there are several processes running at the same time, but some are independent from each other.

When you file for AOS (i-485) to become a permanent resident,

        1) you send the forms, i-130, i-485, i-765, etc.
        2) you get the notices of action for them (receipts) I-797C.
        3) you get a biometrics (fingerprints and photo) appointment at your local application service center.
        4) in 60-90 days, from the receipt date on your i-765, you should receive your EAD (work permit).
        5) in 60-90 days, from the receipt date on your i-485, you should receive an "initial interview" appointment. At your local USCIS office.
        6) at some point (usually 4-6 months into the process) you are interviewed.
        7) usually within 30 days from the interview, if everything cleared and you passed, you will get your green card (at this point the work permit is no longer needed, your GC is all you will need to work, live, study, etc in the USA).
